We won't lie, lately we've been worried about the local fishermen. Brexit pressures, disrupted supply chains and lowered demand due to COVID-19 has had us wringing our hands and saying, "We must buy more local fish!"
It wasn't until earlier this month that we met Co-founders Simon & Albert of The Mobile Fish Company, a paean to all things fishy, and with a mobile offering so ravishing we couldn't resist offering them a spot outside our Farm Shop.
The Hampshire-based lads will be parked up outside our Farm Shop every Thursday from 11am until 2pm, keeping it fresh & sustainable with the best offering of locally landed fish and seafood. They eschew the catch from big trawlers which fish indiscriminately and may have been on ice for up to two weeks before it makes it back to shore. With over 50 years of combined experience, they know a thing or two about how to fillet, skin, butterfly, pocket, pin, gut, trim & canoe too.
