Cheese Fest 2021, 4-10 October
We couldn't agree more which is why we have invited Simeon & heaven to Hampshire this October for a week-long Cheese Fest (aka celebration of all things cheesy).
From Monday through to Sunday, get ready to tingle those taste buds with 7 days of cheese-related activities, events, demonstrations & complimentary tastings. Our Head Chef will also be cramming his restaurant menu full of delectable artisan cheese and the deli counter will be brimming with regional & global variations from the most phenomenal cheese makers. Chilled, educational & upmarket in a laid-back rustic way, there will be numerous bookable sessions each day, with a limited number of tickets allocated. Behind The Counter with Simeon: Aubrey Allen started supplying our deli with cheese earlier this year with our Retail Manager Eleanor, taking Simeon's advice on the cheese counter. With over 30 years experience as a cheesemonger and as a British & World Cheese Award Judge, he's uber-knowledgeable about the subject and there's no-one better to advise you on what to pop in your shopping basket too.
Daily Tasting Table: Sample a range of exceptional cheese with pairing recommendations and advice on what to pick for your Christmas cheeseboard (and for any other occasion, for that matter). Artisan Cooking with Jane Devonshire: Don't miss Masterchef 2016 Winner, Jane Devonshire, who will be hosting an intimate one-day Cookery Course celebrating her love for local. Limited to 8 guests.
Simeon's Christmas Cheese Selection: Aubrey Allen is a byword for excellent artisan cheese – each variety lovingly handmade, often by the second or third generation of a family and their huge Westcombe Cheddar is one of only three artisan Cheddars produced in Somerset. Farm-made from raw milk, it’s matured for a minimum of eleven months giving a firm, smooth texture and buttery, savoury taste.
